It is working efficiently and quietly and does everything that it should. This external hard drive was easy to install - just plug in and go. After much comparison, I found Amazon to have the most reasonable price.
Comes with a 3yr warrenty if you register it online. A little bit on the louder side but its plug and play and a breeze to use. WOuld recomend to others.
Disc usage went from 17% to 1% upon installation. The Iomega unit installed in less than 5 minutes and has worked flawlessly for the past few months. I'm not sure if this unit would work with newer DVR units, but it seems to play well with older DVRs that use a USB 2.0 connection. I have a Motorola/Moxi DVR that I rent from Charter. The factory hard drive is very small and I was always running out of disc space, especially with HD shows. Can't think of anything negative to say.
So far it works great and the noise is low. I would recommended this item to a family member or a friend. I recently purchased this and use this to back up my pictures and as a USB hard drive for my Wii. It has a on and off switch and I have had no problems with this Item.
I like the portibility. You should use with at least a 2.o USB hub. Very reasonable price and fast delivery from vendor. While this drive is not the fastest drive on the market, it makes it up in reliabiliy. It comes comes pre-formatted in NTFS which I like. Transfers with ease between home & work.
